Our Founders come from a range of medical backgrounds. With this, we can see all levels that veterinary medicine can be reimagined. And we can change what is possible for pets and the people who love them.
Steve graduated from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada with a diploma in Veterinary Technology in 1997. Two years after graduation he was accepted into the Veterinary Technician Internship program at The Animal Medical Center (AMC) of New York City. After completing the yearlong program Steve stayed on staff at AMC for an additional nine years, working in both clinical and leadership roles throughout their many specialties and departments. In 2006 he became a charter member of the Academy of Internal Medicine for Veterinary Technicians, earning his Veterinary Technician Specialty in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
Steve joined BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2009 where he spent the next 12 years developing and honing his leadership skills and business acumen in both regional and national roles, the most recent of which were the Group Director of Operations for the Northeast, and the Director of Training and Nursing Care for the organization.
Steve, along with his pup Zachary Jeremiah, will be relocating back to the Northeast from St. Petersburg Florida to be an active part of this amazing new team.
Dr. Levitin attended veterinary school at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and earned his DVM degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) in 2000. After graduating, Dr. Levitin continued his training as a rotating intern at the university’s veterinary hospital where he started his extended education in veterinary medicine and surgery. During this year, he fell in love with the complexity of the neurological cases. He found it fascinating to be able to solve the puzzle of neuro-localization and then find ways, medical and/or surgical, to help cure these patients.
After completing his internship in 2001, Dr. Levitin continued working in the neurology service for an additional year gaining more knowledge and experience in this field. However, Dr. Levitin felt that the more he learned, the more he understood how much he didn’t know yet. Therefore, in 2002 Dr. Levitin crossed the ocean with his wife Gili and moved to Massachusetts where he joined a Neurology internship at Tufts University.
After graduating the Neurology Internship in 2003, he was accepted to a Neurology/Neurosurgery residency at Tufts University. Dr. Levitin completed his residency in 2006 and successfully passed all the needed exams to become a board-certified neurologist (Diplomate of the American Veterinary Medical Association).
Shortly thereafter Dr. Levitin took with him all the knowledge and experience he gained through this long training process and moved to New York City to build a new neurology service in a new veterinary referral center. In no time, this neurology service grew to become one of the main providers of neurology and neurosurgery to New York City patients.
In 2019, after more than 13 years serving the community in New York City, Dr. Levitin decided to cross the Hudson River and bring his expertise to new patients and a new veterinary community in New Jersey. He opened “Harmony Veterinary Care”, a Neurology service that combines knowledge, experience, and advanced technology with care, compassion, and love of animals.
Dr. Suliman Alghazlat obtained his degree in veterinary medicine from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1999. After graduation, he remained at the school for a year of post graduate clinical research. He then moved to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a board certified small animal internist. He completed a one year of clinical training at Purdue University in Indiana and obtained the certificate for Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG). He remained at Purdue University for an additional year to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Alghazlat then moved to New York City to successfully complete his residency in small animal internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center ( AMC). Following the residency and passing the required exams and research; Dr. Alghazlat became a board certified specialist in small animal internal medicine. Since finishing his residency, Dr. Alghazlat worked in multiple prestigious veterinary institutions including the Animal Medical Center, The University of Pennsylvania, Jordan University of Science and Technology and BluePearl Veterinary Partners.
Dr. Alghazlat’s particular interests include but are not limited to: hematology, immune mediated and infectious diseases, gastroenterology, nephrology as well as endoscopy and ultrasonography. After serving the New York/ New Jersey area for almost 17 years, he elected to partner with a few exceptional specialists to open a state of the art specialty and emergency hospital in northern New Jersey.
When not working, Dr. Alghazlat loves to spend time with his family. He also enjoys tending to the farm which includes: 3 cats , 2 dogs, 2 emus , 60 chickens , 25 ducks ,14 guinea fowl, 4 alpacas and a partridge in a pear tree.

Dr. Davidson graduated from the University of Queensland School of Veterinary Science in 1998. He obtained experience as an emergency veterinarian for five years before starting a residency in small animal emergency and critical care at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2003. He completed his residency in 2006 and became board certified in emergency and critical care the same year. Dr. Davidson then took on a role as a senior clinician at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City, where he headed the critical care service for ten years. He then headed the critical care and hemodialysis services at BluePearl in Paramus, NJ. Board certified and proficient in all fields of veterinary emergency and critical care, Dr. Davidson’s professional interests include mechanical ventilation, trauma, sepsis and extracorporeal methods of organ support, including hemodialysis, ultrafiltration and membrane oxygenation. Dr. Davidson has authored articles and textbook chapters on the topics of critical care, and routinely lectures to veterinarians.
