Dr. Valentin Janvier

Dr. Valentin Janvier was born and raised in the rural countryside of the Pays de la Loire region in France, where he developed a passion for animals—particularly horses—at an early age. After high school, he took a gap year to work as a professional groom and horseback rider in Belgium and England. He began his veterinary studies in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, and earned his DVM from the University of Liège in 2014.

Dr. Janvier continued his training at the University of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, completing a rotating internship at the equine teaching hospital. He then extended his stay as a research fellow in a laboratory focused on comparative orthopedics, with an emphasis on osteoarthritis. During this time, he also contributed to the teaching hospital, teaching equine anatomy and radiology to veterinary students.

After two years in Quebec, Dr. Janvier moved to upstate New York to begin his residency in veterinary radiology at Cornell University, which he completed in 2019—the same year he became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology.

For five years, Dr. Janvier worked as a full-time, in-house radiologist at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City. He especially enjoyed caring for and helping manage the diverse canine and feline population of his fellow Brooklynites.

In veterinary radiology, Dr. Janvier’s interests include neuroimaging, vascular imaging, and computed tomography. He takes particular satisfaction in obtaining diagnoses through minimally invasive procedures guided by advanced imaging modalities.

Outside of work, Dr. Janvier enjoys exploring NYC’s vibrant cultural scene, including festivals, events, and its ever-evolving food landscape.
